The app itself is still very basic at this point. It lets you purchase tickets and store a method of payment and thats it, which makes the app more similar to a TAP card that has payment abilities rather than just a value-storage device.
A few improvements to the app could be:
*search the stations near you using geofence.
*information regarding stations (park and ride availabilty, address, lines serving stations, etc)
*TRIP PLANNER - Im sure if Metrolink included this in their app, people will start paying attention. Trust me. Ive been a commuter, I know.
*TAP card connectivity
