Metrolink App Reviews

Great App & Easy

Took me less than 2 minutes to download App and buy my ticket during the Monday morning rush. Super simple to use and much more efficient then waiting in line at the machines to buy a paper ticket. I am excited about the full version of this app and the capabilities.

much needed

this app will save me a lot of time and stress, Im very pleased that its finally here. the interface is much nicer and easier to use than the old mobile website too! my only complaint is that my destination doesnt exist yet but Im sure it will be added soon

What were they thinking?

LA Union is the most important destination and they didnt put it in there in the first place ! Buena Park didnt included . Completely useless and wasted my time .

Text alerts

It would be like to sign up for text alerts if your selected train is delayed or cancelled. And updates are provided.

Doesnt tell you what month your buying

App doesnt tell you what month your buying before you pay. Not sure when the new month is available to buy on the app.

What on earth?

I understand its only good for the oc and inland empire line! Its missing la union station. Why release a useless app?

No Union Station?

This app is pretty much worthless if you need to go to Union Station. Why release a ticketing app that doesnt allow you to purchase a ticket to the most popular destination? Just doesnt make much sense.

Worthless

Pilot app should include Union Station. I cannot be part of this beta testing.

Great!

Passbook support would be nice but besides that its a great app

Inaccessible

For people with visual impairments who use additional accessibility features on their phones such as voiceover on the iPhone, the app is completely unusable. It is a great idea for ticketing, but only if all riders are allowed the same axis to using it. Hope that in future releases the app is accessible for everyone.

Useful App

This is a nice app for purchasing tickets, but Id like to see a system map and train times.

It a good start. But big issues with transferring to buses.

The experience of using the app to purchase and use MetroLink tickets on MetroLink trains is great! However, good luck trying to use your valid ticket to transfer to any local bus service that accepts paper MetroLink tickets or passes. Most Ive Bus operators Ive encountered will not accept these tickets, and I usually end up having to argue with them and convince them that my mobile ticket is a valid ticket and Im not trying to scam them. One MetroLink properly educates local bus services on these tickets and MetroRail starts accepting these tickets at turnstiles, I will give this app a five star review.

Broken update

After the update, the app lost login info and kept refusing CC security code

Feature starved

Aside from purchasing and storing tickets this app is largely useless. As a monthly ticket holder Im more interested in a companion app that brings together schedules, known delays, and tickets in a cohesive way. Until then, Ill delete this app and just use the Metrolink.com mobile weblink Ive been using the last several years, even though a native app is greatly desired.

Subway

Has anyone used this for the subway?

The other ratings are a bit unfair

App works fine Everyone giving one star needs to frame a hard look at why theyre rating it poorly. Just not having specific features you want doesnt necessitate a zero star reviews. Dipzhits.

Missing too many features.

This app makes it easier for Metrolink to sell tickets, which is great for Metrolink. But how do you build a transit app without a system map or timetable?? Thats like Transit 101. Too bad.

Read the full instructions at Metrolinktrains.com!

Metrolink is very clear that this is not valid on Metro Rail or on the qualifying Amtrak trains yet. It is supposed to be valid on connecting buses, but printout the web page just in case.

Good Idea, Needs Tweaking

Its good and I like the idea of an app in case I ever forget my wallet. I thought you could also add a ticket like by scanning it or taking a picture of it if you had already bought one, though. This just lets you buy an electronic ticket.

Completely inadequate

Amtrak will not accept the monthly pass e-ticket. Metro will not accept either. What is the point? Worthless.
